Matching Engine

Sports Card Scanner will match your card based on its image and return all of the card details. If the card is graded, it will have the grading info as well.

Verify Card Details

Verify the details returned for your card, edit them, or select a different match. Add additional info such as purchase price (optional)

Add Card To Collection

Once everything looks good you can add your card to your collection. Once added, you can see real-time price guide values, list the card for sale, or share it on social using our other features.

The matching is highly accurate, but nothing is perfect. It should work 95% of the time based on our tests. Keep in mind we can only find a match if we have the card in our database. If you scan a card and we do not have it in our database, you earn points towards free cards and breaks if you let us use that image to find future matches. This is how our app learns and gets better. We have 14,000,000 cards in our database and over 5 million of those have images currently.

The Sports Card Scanner Desktop App connects to your online SCS account and allows you to utilize your flatbed or autofeed scanner to scan (front and back), automatically crop, and watermark up to 3500 cards per hour.

The Sports Card Scanner.com AI matching engine will then automatically document your cards including year, set, card #, player, team, subset/parallel/insert, serial number, variation, attributes (Rookie, First Bowman, Refractor…etc) and team. If the card is graded it will capture the grading company, numeric grade, abbreviated grade (GD, VG, EX..etc) and Cert #.
